Man’s size medium-large Shirt – across front: 25″ between underarms Vest – across front: 23″ between underarms (fully closed) Vest – length: 17″ from shoulder to bottom hem (not including standing collar) Pants – waist: approx 42″-43″ around Pants – length: 28″ Belt: holes set at 32″-39″ around waist x 6 wide. Very Good Condition – light overall signs of use and age, but no significant damages; occasional spots; cashmere wool necktie has a few tiny holes and stains; pants have a couple small spots and wear; handkerchief has minor stains; very good overall. This listing is for a man’s folk costume from the town of Policka in the Bohemian part of the Czech Republic. The ensemble likely dates to the mid-20th century and is a reproduction of an earlier 19th century costume. The costume includes seven pieces: shirt, vest, pants, belt, hat, necktie, and handkerchief. There is white on white embroidery on shirt collar and floral embroidery on the vest. The vest is decorated with beautiful metal buttons which are purely ornamental as the vest is not meant to fasten in the front. The pants end around mid-calf as the are designed to be worn with tall black boots. The wide belt is decorated with embroidery and the initials SJ. There is overall wear to the costume resulting from use and age, but nothing significant.
